WOW!  This thread has been interesting to read; I had no idea I had such following.  Radio has always been my passion - not just a jock on the air, but the nuts & bolts of getting it there.  I especially love CHR, it had a great spark at one time (3WT, 94ROCK...etc).  It's beyond sad to hear the negative impact the the corporations have had.  I've tried to inject more of a dance/club sound (weekends mostly), but that comes with its own challenges.  Anyone wanna setup an on-air show - can also be networked - let me know....unlike our corporate broadcasters - I'm ALL ears!

I used to (club) mix; if only I had mixing players.  Currently on and shoutcast WOUT.  D21, you stepping up to the plate?

I'll be in the area a bunch of times in the next few weeks.....I'll check it out.  The dance format is interesting; I'm in NV often and 94.5 The Vibe in LV is a very interesting station.  Incredibly, the guy who built KVBE and one of its founding partners was Citadel's eastern director of Engineering, he oversaw WAAL and WHWK and built 95.7's transmitter site down here in Scranton.  KVBE uses FM on channel booster technology which has great promise for the future.

Bro, good that you have the stones, the spirit and the money to free radiate at 97.7, but I'd advise you to put a good lawyer on retainer, just in case the fine folks on 97.7 a few miles west on Rt 17 have a few words with the FCC Field Office in beautiful downtown Buffalo and the G-Men take a drive to your fair city, wip out their field strength meters and antennas and knock on your door.  As the overworked adage goes, "I'm just sayin'."  Carry on... at your own risk.

Um....WENI is beyond miles west.  I don't pick them up to about a few miles west past Owego.

Yes, I'm well outside of their most extended primary range.  Of course, I've always recognized that someone on the local front could act spitefully.  I've been a radio pirate for 35 years - - when the time comes, I cease and desist.
