Uggh, this station makes me sick! Found an article on Radio and Records just now: http://74.125.93.104/search?q=cache:FTFGKqeDYZUJ:www.radioandrecords.com/RRWebSite20/Members/ShowHeadLine.aspx%3FContentID%3D48304%26ContentTypeID%3D101%26Archive%3D0%26FormatId%3D0+arbitron+wabb&cd=7&hl=en&ct=clnk&gl=usMobile Movement By Kevin Carter Updated 0 Hour(s) 1 Minute(s) ago
Enjoy these jock changes performed by PD Chris Michaels at Dittman top 40 WABB/Mobile: Night jock Snapper (may not be his real name) has left the building and will be replaced by yet another one-named jock, Reid, who's currently doing part-time at Michaels' former station, Clear Channel top 40 WDCG (G105)/Raleigh.
"I'm very excited to have Reid join the staff here at WABB," Michaels tells R&R. "He comes to us from some of the greatest teachers in the business at G105, like Randi West, Geller and Brody. You can't buy what they teach you at G105, and I can't wait for Reid to bring what he's learned to Mobile. Reid was Geller's intern for over a year, and this makes Geller's eighth intern to land a gig in eight years!"
And there's more: Congrats to WABB's lovely promotions director, Lu Valentino, who has been covering middays since January and has now been declared "permanent" in the shift by Michaels, who adds, "I'm thrilled to have such a positive, winning team in place here at WABB."Lovely promotions director? How so? How can she be lovely if she doesn't even call listeners back? I wouldn't be thrilled if I was Chris Michaels. I'd fire them all off. This is the most disrepectful station on earth. Their advertisers are going to hear about this too! Another reason not to work in radio. They change jocks ALL the time! It isn't safe for anyone to be a DJ these days because chances are you'll just get screwed. Winning team, yeah right! A winning team that doesn't cooperate or return phone calls that's your winning team WABB.

There are no words. Icy, that's just...depressingly sad. I do hope you gain some maturity and insight soon. Lovely promotions director? How so? How can she be lovely if she doesn't even call listeners back?

This is not only beyond words - this is beyond belief. This is how sitcoms get created.
He's reminding me of the guy in high school that we all avoided like the plague.
On the other hand though, in a sense those guys are the gift that keep on giving.

We get it, your whining. Pathetic.
Not whining, just pointing out your lack of manhood for dragging a private message out onto the public forum. You're (not "your") a loser. You're one of the morons that makes "nothing private on the internet," as you said. Get a life, little boy. You tough, I am scared. I bow before you and hope icycool honors you as the white knight of the internet and the official radio-info grammar nazi. Congrats, I will now go and get that life. Thanks. Ultimate Warrior youremind me of a screaming little kid throwing a tantrum in a store. You are arguing on this like a tyrant. And anything someone says to defend their opinion you consider it "whining." If I told you you were all being nice that would be a lie and I am one of the most honest people out there. Look up fetishism onine if you want. Unless you're a doctor or a person with a medical degree you couldn't fully comprehend and explain it. As I said before if the station had been honest and upfront of me of their policy it would have been ok. But due to them pulling my legs around and making me lose money now it's personal. No one rips me off and gets away with it or at least without trying. Fetishism - the sexual attraction to objects, situations or body parts not conventionally viewed as being sexual in nature So what you lay a WWL t-shirt on the bed and rub one out? Maybe slap WABC sticker on a call girl's face and go to town? How does this work?

Yes! Call all the advertisers! Get a lawyer! Fly down and march in front of the studios! You're worse than the kid in "Better Off Dead" screaming "Two dollars! I want my two dollars!"
You obviously have not read a darn thing I tried to tell you. All you like to do is pout and cry, without thinking there's other reasons why things might have happened the way they did. Maybe your attitude when you call is a reason you don't get a call back. Maybe if you're threatening them on voicemail about an attorney, or calling advertisers, that's the reason nobody is calling you back.
I've gone back and read several posts of yours on other boards. You have a great habit of calling people or situations dumb, stupid, and other things when you have NO CLUE about the situation. I have a strong feeling that attitude is coming through when you call WABB about them "ripping you off". You showed that same attitude in your comments about the recent changes at WABB, and showed that YOU HAVE NO CLUE. Eventhough people have tried to explain that situation to you already.
GET OVER IT! Grow up. Save your allowance for something better. I don't know how old you are, but IF you are an adult you are really lacking in the maturity, and common sense dept.
You refuse to listen to anyone? Good. We are done listening to you.

Reading this thread, I've never been more sorry that Wikipedia does not allow information in articles to be sourced to web forums. Now if only somebody can get the Press-Register to run with the "Wisconsin youth threatens lawsuit over t-shirt promise" story, we have internet gold.

One of my favorite memories is calling WLS as a teenager and them sending me a shirt. They didn't care where I lived.
i got stuff from wls and wwl back in the day. of course those stations were more of a "regional" entity than just local. Back in the early 80's Buffalo's WKBW-AM had not only sent me a T-shirt in the mail but a bunch of other stuff too like bumper stickers, newspaper clippings but even 8/10 pics of the jocks and some of those people ( Yola and Craig Matthews ) actually wrote me a letter thanking me for listening to them despite me living some 500 miles away. But like WLS and WWL, WKBW knew they had fans way beyond Buffalo. On the flip side of this was Cincinnati's 700 WLW. In 1985 I won a prize on the Dusty Rhodes' oldies show. Some trivia game as I recall. The prize was a T-shirt and passes to Kings Island ( which BTW such passes were good at Kings Island's "Taft" sister parks such as Charlotte's Carowinds and Virginia's Kings Dominion for example ) When Dusty asked me on the air where I was calling from I said "Frederick, Maryland"...he was like "WOW.....well folks we are being heard in Maryland tonight !!". Anyway after WLW took my name and information off the air..all the usual stuff then they put me on hold. About 5 minutes later some woman picked up the phone and asked me if I "really" was in Maryland and I told her I was. She then told me, well warned me actually that despite their power WLW serves the "Cincinatti Tri-State area" and it was "policy" at WLW that prizes are only to be awarded to those who live within a 100 miles of Cincinatti and she would have to check with management to see if I could be an exception since those Kings Island tickets could be used in Virginia. Then the conversation ended. Anyway I never did get those tickets or anything else from WLW for that matter. Oh well !!! Life goes on !!!

I admit, I don't like my life. But you can't believe I actually like this attitude. It only shows it's true colors when friendliness doesn't work. I have been very patient indeed with this station. I don't refuse to listen to anyone. Unless I know you I shouldn't care what you think. If you don't like me because of my fetishism, sexual orientation, or my disability, tough cookies. I want to be mature but it's so hard when you are don't get the same back. Ultimate Warrior doesn't seem ashamed of his posts on the other threads now does he? I had a great attitude for almost 4 weeks at first waiting to hear back from them. It all comes down to people not contacting back. People have the lack of it. I am not an idiot either. People simply don't bother contacting others back. I don't know why, they JUST DON'T! All they do is sit on their buts and twiddle their thumbs or something. It's a wonder why there's so many divorces these days and unhappy people like me. If they contacted me back it wouldn't have gotten this bad but it is. I have had it up to here with them and also this board for saying mean, hurtful cruel things that are not positive in any way. No one says anything positive to me anymore in my life.

Sorry you feel the way you do, but you can't pin your hopes on radio stations. None of us are anything to them, and you can't take it personally. Just the way it is. It's only a tee shirt. Your worth certainly exceeds a tee shirt or acknowledgement from people who just don't matter in the big scheme of things.
