Worst songs on country radio

I suggest you research the artist and listen to the song before waxing poetic about something you know nothing about. That is obvious from your post. As for Willie's album, I use it as a coaster..

waxing poetic???uh huh,  one of them college boys using them big words.  so hows that college loan pay off goin'? another few decades of payments?  thanks for learnin' me a new phrase.  dang if i know how, or when to use it though.  meanwhile back at the ranch, comparin' willie to some force fed, radio freindly, few hit wonder isnt even worthy of debate.    yep, i'll have to check out some of that bryan luke.   many times these boys can still put out some decent soundin' country, its just hidden deep in the album, away from the over produced radio friendly circa 2012 crapola.   "country girl(shake it for me)" sounds like a real winner, not!    sorry boys, i can debate this sh*t till the cows come home........

RE:  the pronunciation of "nuclear."  Anyone who can say the words "new" and "clear" should be able to put the two together and say "nuclear" correctly.  HOWEVER (isn't there always a "however"?), and it pains me to say this, but according to my dictionary, "nucular" is actually listed as a "nonstandard" (I think that's the word) secondary pronunciation of "nuclear."  I don't like it either, but it's there.  Maybe we have George W. Bush and Jimmy Carter to thank for that.

hahahahaha, You is a funny man. You are sooooo wrong, that it may be the funniest thing I have read in a while......Thanks for the laugh.....now how about answering "The Big A's" question. How is that wonderfully bad Willie tune any different than one currently climbing the Madiabase charts? My answer?...The Luke Bryan tune is a good medium tempo summer song that talks about love and appeals to the current country audience...Nelson's appeal?......Not so much anymore......Maybe he should talk to George Strait to see how a legend stays relevant year after year......

The problem is that Willie doesn't give a s*it about anyone's opinions on country, especially yours. That's why he has a much larger following than any current country artist today and can reach out to other categories of people, hence he and Snoop Dog touring together.  It's ignorant folks like you that ruin it for everyone.

willie is beloved American musical royalty.  loved by cowboys, hippies, urbanites, and even rappers.  why? because he's anti establishment.  us common "uncorporate" blue collar workin' men can identify with him.  he also aint a marketed fake, thought up by some image group to sell records, like a good portion of mediocre popified country music acts often are today.  willies about being true to yourself, and not a clone act.    is everything willie does great?  hell no.  when  i was a teenager, he released his version of "city of new orleans" in the early 80's.   i still cringe when i hear it.

as far as "roll me up....." on his new album.  it is typical willie tongue and cheek humor.  kind of like "10 with a two", "big booty" or "bloody mary morning".  then again willie can tackle stuff on that star dust album, and put out a classic timeless masterpiece of music, or you hear him sing "everythings beautiful in its own way" with dolly parton,and it takes your breath away...

lets put an end to slamming artists for dumb song titles here and now, and agree to disagree.  i think every artist is guilty of a dumb song title here and there.

i bet that luke feller aint half bad when you dig into the album.  yes, ive heard a few of the hits, and its mediocre at best, like most of the crap on the radio.   problem is buddy, my ears been exposed to the greats like vern, kieth, merle, john anderson and george jones.   that is my yard stick of country greatness.  if your ears are new and young, and you have no country listneing history, then i bet them slick over produced pop acts sound good in your book.   then again you all have very little access to that good stuff, unless you make the proactive effort, or your daddy raised you right.   radio is not your friend, just a pusher of manufactured pop for the urbanite masses in the major markets.

as for Willie, unlike George Strait, he has ceased being relevant. The old axiom is you are only as good as your last hit......When was Willie's last hit? As for George, it was his last single, and his new one is climbing as we speak....People want music that speaks to them, George knows that, Luke knows that...Hank Jr. Knows that.....your hero Willie, seems to have forgotten...

every few years willie puts out a song that would be a good hit, if it got some rotation.   if you all blackball him, none of your AQH listeners know of it, then its not relevant.  guess what, stop rotating the new george strait, and he will become  not relevant.  by the way, all you programmers, just parrot the latest schlock from nashville as dictated by the major market centralized control consultant engineered song charts.  try rotating that new pearl jam/willie song "just breathe" he does with his son lukas.   not only will it be a hit, it will also go AC if given the deserved rotation.  one of the best willie songs in years! 

also, if these so called has been/not relevant artists like willie are so not relevant, how come these country legends keep having their name, name dropped in the current country songs.  i recently heard darius rucker name drop patsy cline in his AC pop sounding farce "alright".  also, another watered down, flavor of the month artist,jason aldean had a song called "johnny cash" a little ways back.   hey, if these yesteryear artists get name dropped, as if they cool.  why not play em, and introduce your pre pubescent listeners to the masters!

In this world, with all the competing ways to hear music, you can't force music by a 79 year old singer who's 20 years past his prime on an audience half his age.  Just because you expose people to it doesn't mean they're going to like it.  They have many other options.  Willie gets endless airplay on SiriusXM.  Last night, CMT had him perform "Roll Me Up and Smoke Me When I Die" with Toby Keith, Zac Brown, Darius Rucker, and Jamie Johnson.  Let's see what that exposure in front of a TV audience of about 3 million does.

The real question is: Did YOU watch the CMT Awards?  Of course not.  You won't sit through Rascal Flatts & Lady Antebellum just to hear Willie.  Why should those who love the other acts beforced to sit through Willie?

They call it lipservice.  Happens all the time.  People say they like certain things, until it's actually put in front of them.  Then they run away.  Let your grandkids enjoy the music they like.  No need to force what you like on them.
