I only get a hint of the Bolton translator here in New Britain IF I move my 4 foot wire the right way. Otherwise I get a weak signal of WALK-FM from Long Island. I get a weak signal of WILI-FM 98.3 in almost any position. Sadly, I have to find a so-called "sweet spot" to get it through in stereo. I get almost nothing from the other direction, which means WDAQ-FM of Danbury. Then there's the Spanish translator on 98.3 FM to deal with when I'm near Westfield Shoppingtown in Meriden (I get none of that one here).

A Friend on mine works at Hall Communication and said that John Fuller was at Hall Comminications WCTY tower site two days ago and he had a complete inventory list of equipment, is he buying this station too?  I would hate to see Hall leave Eastern CT, they have done a great job.  I saw a listing on line on radio and records before it closed it's interenet doors....that Fuller is looking to pick up more stations....He owns some 37 radio cell towers throughout  the North East..  Time will tell??

If Red Wolf ends up acquiring Hall's Kool 101, they'd better keep the oldies format intact. I think it's one of the most under-appreciated oldies stations in the country. They have live jocks 24/7! I once heard a live jock do a legal ID on a Sunday night at 12 midnight! And besides, how many oldies stations still play "Soulfinger" by The Bar-Kays?

KOOL 101 is voicetracked more than you think.  It's all in the audio vault.  (Does sound good though!) I am pretty sure Middays and Nights are voicetracked (and Overnights if they have a jock on?)  and most of the weekends are VT'd as well.  Only live shows I can remember are AM and PM drive shows.  WCTY is the only station in Eastern CT that has a live body 24/7.

The terrain in NE Connecticut really kills reception. On the peaks of the hills, you get Hartford and Providence stations. In the valleys, nothing. i98.3 via 97.5 is the most consistent signal on I-84 from about East Hartford to Tolland, then 98.3 is good till the CT/MA border. At UConn, i98.3 is the strongest CHR station, so that's what the students will listen to.

Does 93.7 or 95.7 come in well in Storrs, CT ? Also can't you get 92.3 WPRO-FM from RI too?

WPRO-FM is possible in some spots by U-Conn. However, have a good tuner or they'll be wiped out by WWYZ. I went past their campus on a Bonanza bus a few years ago. I briefly had WJMN-FM 94.5 of Boston in with weak stereo along CT Route 195.

I HATE to see 97.5 go from I-98.3. I Know Rivers Said the 'RX was for 104, But 97.5 would PERFECTLY fit into the WEEI network and fill in the Holes between Springfield and Providence. ( I hate to say that being a Mets Fan). Gee, 2 Sentances and I use the word hate,I Guess i am a Hateful Guy.

Hey, at least you're not a Red Sox fan Smiley
I don't think we need yet ANOTHER WEEI outlet though. I'm still getting over 103.7 WRX being blown up!
