The morning spot on 98-7 has finally been filled
Say hello to Kennedy.

From All Access:
CLEAR CHANNEL Alternative KYSR (98-7FM)/LOS ANGELES hires KENNEDY to anchor its "MUSIC IN THE MORNING" beginning MONDAY, JULY 6th.  The well-known pop culture personality and radio talent, KENNEDY, will incorporate local lifestyle perspective, relevant reports and breaking news into the already popular "MUSIC IN THE MORNING" format on the station.

Because, while KYSR does very well against KROQ after 9 AM, it loses pretty badly in AM Drive.

She doesn't seem like a bad pick for 98-7. After all, after Lisa Foxx started working more on Star in SF and 104.3 here in LA, the female jock voice of the station was lost.
What better person to pick it up than the former host of MTV's Alternative Nation?
I honestly think that some former Indie jocks should have been hired instead of what they have right now on the on-air crew. The only person that I find bearable is Marco Collins, after that Josh and Kade make the station feel like an active rock station. Bring in TK, Kurt St. Thomas and Tedd Roman to the 98-7 crew!  Wink

Kurt St. Thomas went back to KROQ for weekends, I am pretty sure.

Wow! This is a surprise considering she works on KFI weeknights and she just had a baby!!

That's the genius of the selection. She is relevant, knowledgeable, and most importantly, already in-house, so they can cover the shift on the cheap.

I guess that's the way it is when you work for a media giant like Clear Channel.

Smiley I thinik it's great that Kennedy will be on 98-7.  She's bright, happy, chipper and full of fun.  She'll be  welcome to LA

Plus there is an added bonus of being a local show. Now that Kevin & Bean are syndicated, this a chance to exploit a hole.

Btw, question for David, what effect does syndication have on show's in their home markets? Does lack of local content have negative effects?
