Part 15s
« on: August 10, 2009, 06:38:21 AM »

Is there an online listing of New Jersey Part 15s?  I recall a Long Beach Island station and wonder if it's still on-air.

Not sure if there's a current list.

I ran that particular one, it's been off for a while now.  The PC I had it hooked up to fried in a thunderstorm and I lost my entire digital music library.

The transmitter was a C. Crane FM Transmitter (http://www.ccrane.com/radios/fm-transmitters/fm-transmitter.aspx) which still works so I probably will set it up again one day.

The frequency was 106.5 before WKOE (now WBBO) moved there, then I moved to 97.7.

The format was Dance with an emphasis on Latin Freestyle.

Surprisingly, the station did get a couple of e-mails from listeners during it's lifespan, so at least a few people were listening!

If you were operating the CCrane Transmitter legally, chances are you listeners with within a couple of hundred feet at best. I own the same transmitter just to listen to internet radio around the house. You'd get more range yelling out of the window.

Mounted outside 20 feet up with no buildings more than 2 stories around...
