Sohio Weather Sounder
« on: August 06, 2009, 07:47:43 PM »

Remember the classic Sohio Weather Sounder?

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=lVOJ2RqNYzg

I was wondering if anybody has a "clean" copy of this available for a hobbyist?

I posted that on my blog last winter. Same YouTube clip.

Just funny I see this on the hottest day of the year.

Just a screwball moron who thinks he knows a lot about broadcasting, but knows nothing according to some afternoon talk show host.

If anybody cares, someone on the Pittsburgh board has put up a clean copy for me.

It's got a little hiccup at the beginning.  Still neat to hear it,though, especially while I'm sitting here sweating my balz off...

My borther and I were talking about this last night and then the Lawson's Big O Orange Juice commercial became the topic of discussion

I also asked on the Pittsburgh board if anybody has a copy of a "The Allegheny Air System ... We Have a Lot More Going for You!" commercial from the 1970's.  Those were some memorable jingles back then.

Been looking for that one forever!  Takes me back to the old Motorcraft ads..."Motorcraft...for sure...Motorcraft...for sure..."...and when Little Caesar's first began..."Little Caesar's Pizza...tastiest around...every way you slice it...all the way around"

I remember having that cart in the air studio at various sations I worked at with standing orders that if the temperature was going to be low enough to play it before the forecast. We also had to make a copy of the forecast to send to SOHIO so we'd paid. Good memories.
