OMGZ0RZ!! This station is teh bestest!!!  They dont disturb the neighborhood at night with silly things like tower lights, and they can be heard all over the world!!! what with not switching power.

The greater than 100% modulation really punches through the crud at night too, and I'm not bothered by the under modulated ID!

WXCT is teh bestest!!

(the preceding was satire and sarcasm, for those of you too thick to really get it, look it up if you need to.)

You're forgetting the part of them not powering down and running full 2500 watts at night, which is preventing me from listening to 1010 WINS at night now in addition to the daytime. Some engineer out there wanna go out there with a signal meter and then send their report out to the FCC?

Dr. Joy Browne on an obscure Canadian AM station prevents you from listening to 1010 WINS at night.

Dr. Joy is on 2AM-5AM 7 nights a week on CHML 900 out of Hamilton, Ontario, which is hardly an obscure Canadian Radio Station. And lately depending on the conditions WLAT 910's I-CRAP Hash is bleeding into their signal. At 2AM I'm not gonna listen to CHML's internet stream to listen to Dr. Joy. I'm glad CHML carries her at that time of night. It's a lot more intelligent than the other crap on at that time - those kooks on Coast to Coast AM (who all belong in padded rooms) and the Dinosaur known as Joey Reynolds.

To the best of my knowledge, that's been going on for the longest time.  Why don't you just contact the FCC yourself and maybe they'll send a field agent out there; provided one's available.

Actually it's been the last couple months. When I was there there was a timer or something in the transmitter room that cut to night power automatically and powered back up in the morning.

I recall the Sunwatch device that changed the power from day to night and vice versa when I was there.  Beyond that, MarcB, one more time, contact the FCC yourself if you believe there's an issue with the power patterns there.  You're saying the last couple of months.  I can recall picking it up as far as Rocky Hill at night in the last couple of YEARS.  Either that's one heck of a night pattern for 80 watts or their cheating.  Do you still keep in contact with the CE?  Contact the CE.

There is a Sine Systems remote, and Lee Steele would never allow this.  I cannot drop the dime as that would END my career.  But any of you NOT in broadcasting can.  All you need to do is swear out an affidavit that you did not hear it drop power at the prescribed time (you can find this on the FCC Media Bureau Website).  Then forward this off to the Boston enforcement agents.

I however will call Joe Rizza and Paul Gois on Monday...  Say what you will about the Goisesseses, they DO run a legal operation.  If I get some BS about the client wanting that, I can put pressure on the other end, since they come out of my studios at 449 Broadway.

Can it be just as simple as contacting the CE directly and maybe he has to physically go out to Southington and make adjustments with the system instead of putting the squeeze on with the FCC enforcement?  And even if you go the enforcement route, there's still the issue of the availability of a field agent who will bother to do an inspection.
