Why Is Nobody Talking About How US 101 Has Gone from an 18 share station to a 10 share over the last few years.

Two Possible answers:

#1.   This board is mainly a Knoxville Board.  I have nothing against any or where anybody lives.   I use to live in Soddy Daisy.  Chattanooga is the smaller city and almost in Georgia.  Unless something weird happens (this is radio so never say never to weirdness) most of the discussions will be about Knoxville just based population.

#2.  Chattanooga radio jobs and or interest is drying up!

It's exclusively Chattanooga radio and television and has very intelligent posts from people, both in and out of the business.

Odd that Knoxville does not have have a TV board..
I do not count the one run by the News-Sentinel.. that newspaper is sleeping with WBIR-TV and I'm sure they censor out anything detrimental to their paying "partner."

Not to mention that it's not really all that newsworthy.  Country just isn't the powerhouse it once was, and it's common knowledge around the industry.  You'll find the occasional WIVK or WXBQ with a 20 share, but those stations are no longer the rule.

This board also talks about the Tri-Cities area a lot, and oddly enough, I remember that WUSJ, the country station in Elizabethton which is now Electric - uhh, Jammin' - uhh, What the heck is it now?!
Anyway, it had that unfortunate call sign until the last letter changed. I didn't think the FCC would let another station suffer with that call sign.

Kent, you're absolutely correct.. Country stations just aren't the biggies in the market that they used to be (except of course, if you're WSM.. those roots are the foundation for ANY radio in Nashville).

I've long thought that country was just a phase that listeners go through..
Just like anything else, eventually you grow out of it.

Has been 3 decades since wsm am has had any ratings to speak of and then country was not the format that brought them in it was chicken rock format.

WSM was playing the AC part of the top 40 during the day in the early 1970's.  Point of intrest, Pat Sayjack (I know the spelling is worng) was the PM drive guy.  The was a rummor that the WX guy on channel 4 WSM TV at the time came in too drunk to do the WX so Pat filled in.  Eventually Pat did weather in LA where he ended up on Wheel of Fortune.  At that time there were a lot of daytimers within earshot of WSM 650 that played Country.  I worked at one. The owner of the station told me that WSM did not play country during the day so the little country daytimers stood a chance.  At that time the "count" of country formats was a big deal to the CMA.  They were trying to get more stations up north to switch to country.
