Heard the station for an hour on Saturday. Not much for imaging elements...went in and out of the ABC news to Ramsey with no local returns just spots back to the show. WVMT-AM in Burlington puts more effort into sounding local in national shows. Haven't heard the morning show yet. Strong signal in U-mall parking lot.

This venture takes nads… I respect the effort and wish them success… Owning a radio station and creating daily local content takes talent and heart. The challenges and the daily minutia are relentless… and if you do a good job… It all sounds like your not breaking a sweat. (make sure you're grounded)
Good luck boys… let me know if I can help.

If it is true that Mr. Cormier is the first to trash someone, he will certainly reap what he has sown. That's bad enough. If he is ever held accountable for proffering disastrous advice to a very unfortunate station down in Southern Vermont, it is a bleak future indeed. Not knowing the man, it is impossible to say if he is deserving of all the steel toed boots being slammed into his sides while he is down. Yeah, kinda like stumbling over a metal garbage can in an alley off Church Street and having every street bum in town spitting on your vintage Members Only jacket.

Dear Mr Cheese,
speaking as the News Director of said " unfortunate station" in southern Vermont, you are not only totally off base, but just trying to pile on. BTW, Professor, now that you know who I am, I'll match my 36 years of experience in this inductry against yours, anytime, any place. Bring it on

you don't court advertisers with ratings, you court them by going to the businessman's shop and shaking hands with him.
Truer words have not been spoken about how to be successful in a local market. Well done Will. The other half is providing a distinct, compelling on-air product that attracts listeners and followers. They apparently have their niche in the market and one that advertisers want to reach. I think your right when you say they'll be fine. Just stay away from the racial stuff and overly sensative controvertial stuff that can cost you in listeners and advertisers. The only 2 I know that can get away with that are Rush and Howard. Imus wasn't immune to it.

I know many will think I'm piling on but Cormier and Company love to tell everyone how well they do everything and are the first to criticize others. That's not an opinion but a fact from watching the man over the past 15 years. Here are the results over the past two weeks:
Nov 23rd-press conference announcing return of C & C to radio next morning 11/24 Nov 24th-No C & C...just Bloomburg Radio Nov 25th-C &C on...very basic show Nov 26th-C & C off/Thanksgiving/justified Nov 27th--C & C off/well, after all they did work one day Nov 30th-C & C on Dec 1st-C & C on Dec 2nd-C & C off...just Bloomburg radio with no explanation Dec 3rd-Just Corm...no Coach Dec 4th-Just Corm again...no Coach
9 days of broadcasting and just 3 days of C & C. I don't care what market you are in...that's a horrible way to debut a new era on a new station. It's the textbook case of "how NOT to debut a radio show". Lesson learned here is don't go on until you have everything ready and your i's are dotted and t's crossed. They should know better. Shame on them.

OMG...what a train wreck. It is now obvious that Arte Levine, Ken Barlow, and Karen Marshall were the ones that made Corm sucessful. It is equally obvious that Corm knows nothing. He had months and months to get his new station ready, and did nothing. No imaging, no bumpers, no automation clocks, poorly designed website, no plan for the show. I hope the investors did not pay him since the spring because if they did they got ripped off. With all the starving hungry kids out there who would love the station and take it under their wing it is a shame that a guy who is just phoning it in has the job. Arte, Ken or Karen do the community a favor and call Corm and tell him what to do, its clear he can't figure it out for himself.

I'll bet they had a difficult time persuading Congressman Peter Welch to appear on their show this morning. NOT.
Welch may just supplant former state Senator Mary Just Skinner as Vermont's all-time microphone and camera hound, the ultimate self-promoter, he makes the White House Party-Crashers look like amateurs.
The funny part is what a snoooooooooze he is to interview. I'll bet 90% of Corm's audience this morning was gone within the first 90 seconds of that riveting interview.
