« on: October 16, 2005, 01:23:12 AM »

Will the bible thumpers on the 105.3 Albany translator, be forced to leave the air??? I hope so...I would be nice to hear WEBK, without the interference...

Being it's only a 2nd adjacent channel, AFIAK the translator may be allowed to stay on the air. Another example of 2nd adj translators within the primary contour: WRCK 94.5 > 94.9 Troy.

As a consolation of sorts: the translators on 105.5 in both Scotia and Troy will be history when 105.7 Bald Mtn signs on. Come to think of it, is 105.5 Scotia still on the air? Don't remember hearing it when in the valley on Saturday.

Jesus has been id'ing the 105.7 FX in Troy for a year and a half when it was only on the air for about a week...(in other words it hasn't been on-air in a year and a half)

105.5 is hard to tell where you are receiving it from at times.

Can they (Jesus) apply for a different freq when the move in is complete?

Also--- being off the air for over 30 days w/out STA from FCC constitutes surrender of licence, right? (105.7 Troy)

In that case 97.5 in Bennington (Hoosick Falls) has been silent since Mid-July. Does the FCC care if this is done w/out permission?

So the STA that WHAZ-FM was granted on August 23rd (less than 30 days from "mid july") to remain silent means nothing?

Just wondering because a quick check of the CDBS database shows the STA filed.

I was refering to the translator at 105.7 mia an STA...should have been more specfic. I was not aware of an STA for WHAZ-FM (hence you answering that question).

Does the same rule apply to translators?

Also---why have they gone silent? Are they planning a move for the transmitter site, building a studio, or other?
