When I use radio-locator to identify open freqs in the same area as qkc, it shows 93.7 as still available. I had thought not possible though because of incroachment from 93.9 in indy and louisville. Is that the case, or would a lower power signal be allowed at the same location or perhaps 93.5?

Radio Locator's empty channel feature only suggests where a good place for your iPod or sattelite radio would be, not where a full fledged station could fit

Once I94 (whatever their calls du jour are - still WRWM?) goes to a B1, any presently available allocation would disappear.

There's also a Class A on 93.5 being dropped in south of Columbus that will wipe out any 93.7 prospects.

When I started in radio in 1967, most broadcast equipment used tube technology, all recorded music was played from records on a turntable by live DJ's, there was no satellite delivery...and radio was fun.

plus with 93.9 Indy goes B1, the Class a at 93.5 south of columbus, along with the 93.9 Terre Haute moving to 93.7 all but eliminated the old Seymour allocation

As always, the allocation buzzards were circling that one long before the last song played.

I wanted to give 93.7 back to the people of Seymour. But, study the FCC's mileage separation requirements. 93.7 is short spaced to WFCJ in Miamisburg, Ohio by 14 miles. The old Seymour station was grandfathered on this channel. The frequency wasn't even open for a Class A.
Commercial Class A stations on 96.3 and 92.7 have moved to Seymour. Plus there are about 4 non-coms for Jackson County.
There are 2 undiscovered commercial channels left in this state. They are in towns with about 1,000 people in the middle of nowhere. I suspect they will never be built. After all, in today's world, they are a ticket to bankruptcy.

If I lose 93.5 for my Part 15 TX, what frequency in Martinsville can I use without giving or receiving interference?

I already lost 88.3.. and 107.5 is open,, but would get hamered out by WRZQ< though wouldnt cause WRZQ Interference,, I guess either there or 98.1....... It only goes 200 to 500 feet depending on the radio...
