KCLC TO AAA?

Hey Guys:

          When did KCLC go to a AAA format? I always thought it was Jazz and Bluegrass.

KCLC dropped its NAC/smooth jazz format in the summer of 2002.  At that point, they also dropped the bluegrass show they had since at least the late 1970's.

KCLC adopted a contemporary jazz format around 1982 or 1983.  Prior to that, they had varying formats of Top-40 and AOR from the 1970's to early 1980's.  The jazz format continued as they increased their power from 1500 watts to 25 kW in 1988.  In 1991, the format was adjusted to the New Adult Contemporary format.

I rolled tape on KCLC and here are my airchecks, from 1992 to 1997.  The folder link can be found here:
