WOXY going off the air
« on: March 23, 2010, 09:43:45 PM »

Long time former FM, now online alternative radio station WOXY has announced on their website http://www.woxy.com that they have stopped their online stream as of today March 23, 2010, due to finances and lack of income.  Famously dubbed "The Future of Rock and Roll" (And also famous for it's appearances in such movies as Rain Man), the station was always pushing the envelope in exploring new and eclectic alternative and indie programming.  It's sad to see them go as they were one of the top online radio stations playing new and exciting alternative music. According to their website, you can email them with business inquiries still. Sad loss for alternative internet radio...    Undecided

Wow, I had no idea they had such a long, lengthy past with several different owners and several times of going off the air and then being resurrected by a new investor. Let's hope someone else picks up the slack, but like you mentioned, this could be it..  Sad
