Q101 Meridian Tribute Site
« on: March 27, 2010, 08:44:21 PM »

New Q101 Meridian tribute site at www.Q101meridian.com.  If you ever worked at Q101, check out the site and send info on your current whereabouts.  Pictures would be great too.

We were all much younger then.  I was 22.  The guy next to me, Jack Watkins, was indeed 17.  I think Bill Loggins and John Walker were maybe 20.  Lisa may have been 18 or 19.  The only old geezer was Brock.  He was old even back then ;-)

Anybody heard from Jack Watkins these days? I got him on the air in Newton for the first time when he was around 15(before his voice dropped a few octaves). Later helped him get on briefly at JDX.
Come to think of it, maybe he owes me finders fees for those jobs!
Good luck with the Q-101 site,Larry. Lots of folks went thru those buildings.

I think Vicki told me Jack was working in Orlando. He has been out of the biz for many years now... in fact, I remember being in the studios at Watkins and Beasley one day and Jack was installing phones for ATT. I have great memories of Jack.

Damn Larry. You were 22? I thought you were about 35 when Q went on the air... guess when you are 14 everyone seems like they are 35. Q101 was an awesome station. I used to hang on every word... every record... every promo. I doubt very seriously, ain't nobody listening to ANY radio station like that anymore... or ever will.
