If anyone reading this worked at the Big J in the mid 60's I'd would love to know you're still around.
Thanks
Gary

I worked there in the mid-70's when there was Peter St. James, George Wright, Dick Pennington, Rick Bean, and Brad Woodward did the news. I was the station's Chief Engineer before I left for TV. It was located in an industrial park at the time.

That was a good station in the 60s. Wasn't it owned by Tal Hood and the guys out of Keene?

Dunno about Tal Hood, but Ralph Gottelieb (WKBR) owned it for a time in the 70s.

Tal Hood's bio suggests he was part-owner at WKBK, no mention of WEMJ...though clearly Ralph Gottlieb had his hand in both stations.

Good Neighbor Stations.....

Yes I forgot about that. A guy named Gary Hammond was GM back then. Hard to believe a 1KW AM could be so popular in a market. They had the worst signal back then. The antenna as too short and the ground radials were yanked out by ice from the lake they were next too.

I wanted to run a ground radial to a nearby railroad track but was told not too!

I think you meant Gary Howard was the GM.  He was there for 10-15 years I think.  Gary Hammond I think was the Engineer at some point.

Gary Hammond was on air as "Brook Foster",both EMJ and LNH, while he was a student at Emerson.

Never knew that about Gary.  Where is he now?  Or where is Foster now!?
