All I can offer is the long-standing rumor of Access.1 flipping WTKU/AC to urban once they took over from Howard Green's estate. I can safely tell you that 98.3 is still oldies.

Unlike Radio One, they are a mass entertainment company that programs to ALL audiences. Whatever generates top dollar.

I have never heard Access 1 until this happened. I'm curious as to what they will do and when they will do it. I can't even find a website for them. Does anybody know of one??

As well as some stations in Texas and another Southern state, here's what Access.1 owns around this area:

South Jersey/Atlantic City:

98.3 WTKU/1490 WUSS - Oldies
102.7 WJSE - Alternative-Leaning Pure Rock (Stern affiliate)
103.7 WMGM - Classic Rock
1400 WOND/1580 WONZ: Talk
WMGM-TV 40 - NBC Affiliate

New York:
1600 WWRL - Urban talk/Caribbean music

In Jersey, Nassau allowed Millennium to use the "105.7 The Hawk" name after selling WCHR-FM to them.  However, there were rumors Nassau was going to move The Hawk to 104.9 before giving the 105.7 frequency to Millennium.  Supposedly, Millennium balked at that and forced Nassau into keeping The Hawk on 105.7.

So if Nassau's learned anything, there may be a clause in the sale that says The Hawk can move before the sale is finalized, but that assumes Access.1 has no problem with Nassau keeping the #1 format in the Lehigh Valley.  And of course, we're all assuming that Nassau actually HAS the option of buying or LMAing 107.5.

It seems to me, though, that Nassau wants out of the Valley, so anything they do put on 107.5 will be temporary.  That means it's probably not worth the hassle of moving The Hawk.  Nassau never operates standalones.

Good point. Does anyone have proof that Nassau is actually buying or LMA'ing 107.5? I've seen lots of speculation, but no real proof that they are.

HOCKEY PUCKS

Why would Nassau sell these stations to bu 107.5 for a BIG CITY/NEXT MEDIA RING AROUND PHILLY. To move the Allentown HAWK to 107.5 would loose the coverage they currently have and where they sell. Allentown local direct or a Gilbertsville client.

Why does the owner of Access.1 have two names?

How do we pronounce the name of that company?  "Access-Dot-One"?
