Cool Finally, more stations are now jumping on the holiday mixshow game.  Not everyone was good at it though.  Lots of stations were pre recorded and one station I heard on the way to Miami had drops saying "The MLK I Have A Dream Mixmaster Weekend, Live."  Seems like HOT 97 were the only ones doing it almost 24 hours per day.  Too bad I missed the mixshows here at home between HOT 107.9 and V-103.

I agree. I remember back in the day, a mix weekend would go like 72 hours non-stop, and live at that. Not the case anymore. By the way, what song was played the most in your area this past weekend? "Unthinkable" by Alicia Keys was on fire here in the DFW on both the urban and urban ac stations.

Really disappointed that 92.5 THE BOX here in Charleston didn't do a Memorial Day Weekend Mix, but I think Z93 did on Memorial Day

nothing in the bay area, as expected, what are all the mixers in the bay too old to go 24 hrs?
KMEL is very lackluster these days.  Their mixshows aren't the same.  A lot of times, they play a lot of southern music and R&B in the mix, but don't play a lot of West Coast music.  Same goes for their daily programming.  They need to go back to the old KMEL-when they get new people.

KSFM did their mix throughout the weekend.  Not nonstop because they only have 3 mixers.  They used to have about 6-7 mixers a few years ago and mixed nonstop for Memorial, 4th of July, Labor Day, Thanksgiving, and New Years.  Those DJs left likely because the station began playing more pop songs than hip-hop at times.  But, their mix this weekend was at times were on fire.  I had my speakers up.  It reminded me of the old KSFM.  Their mix hours were as followed:

Fri: 5p-3a
Sat: 3p-3a
Sun: 3p-12a
Mon: 3p-12a

KBMB and KMEL meanwhile, no Memorial mix.  Thank God KSFM is still around.

I wish I was aware of this thread earlier. Anyway, we already had our Memorial Day Mix Weekend here in Phoenix on KKFR and KZON. KKFR has been doing it for 13 years already so nothing new here - as a matter of fact, I expect it. Thanks to KPWR, we're also benefiting since many of "our" old ideas came from them. Just waiting to see what Independence Day has in store. KKFR is still doing their Power Mix Weekends every weekend throughout the entire summer, and they've been doing so ever since they did the year round throwdown a few years back.

Anyway, right now I'm listening to Power 106. Sometimes they are interesting to listen to, and if it weren't for them, I would no longer have anything to look forward to in L.A. I actually like my Phoenix radio stations better than L.A.s stations now.

If you play any form of current (& old school) booty bass, house, or freestyle hits or in your station mixes, then I'm interested. That's what I mostly look forward to in mixshows anyway. I don't care for stations that play only the exact same things in a mix in their original form that they do in the regular playlist. Btw, judging by the Power 106 streamer, it really seems as if they are keeping their commercials and ads top secret because this is the only streamer that seems to entirely block out EVERY commercial played!!
