97.9 The Box here in H-town is doing mini-mixes almost every hour all this weekend. Not sure if it was for the holiday, because they did the same thing last weekend too.

I have to take this time to thank the PD of 97.9 The Beat, Candy, for finally budging, and letting his mixers mix this weekend.

V-103 is going to be mixing the majority of the holiday weekend according to someone I know at the station.  As a matter of fact, they said they will start at noon on Saturday and do it series of multiple hours mixes with their staff of DJs (Infamous, Cowboy, Herb, Jelly, Tayrock, Bubby Love, and Baby Yu) through 10pm Monday night.

http://v103.radio.com

Also, they landed a major coup with Grandmaster Flash spinning for 2 hours straight live on Sunday afternoon.  Bubby Love and DJ Herb said that he will be doing some of their old school mixes on their "Old School Sunday" show from noon to 3pm.  I got to give it up to V-103 they seem to cover all bases from current to old school music from mixing to regular rotation.

So far on V-103 today, they have been mixing really well. They have been doing a remix  mixshow for a while now and I have been really impressed by what they were doing.

97.9 The Beat kicked off their "Memorial Day Mixtape Weekend" off at noon today.  Right now, Dj Phil, who does the "Chicken & Waffles Mix" for the Rickey Smiley Show is on the 1's & 2's.  Fiyah baby!!
