Five Let Go As Beasley Takes Over Riviera
« on: September 02, 2010, 02:38:35 AM »

I heard that 5 Riviera staffers were let go on Wednesday as Beasley took over. This included OM (and KOAS morning man) Carmy Ferreri and Sales Manager Dave Steele.

Only one salesperson made the transition from Riviera to Beasley. From what I heard most saw the writing on the wall and found positions elsewhere over the past several weeks.

Maybe somebody here could confirm this is true or has additional details. I wonder what other changes Beasley will make now that they control 105.7 and 107.9?

I heard it was more like 7 or 8.  Sucks to see that happen.  However, it was to be expected.  That's what happens when a new compnay comes in.  They put in their own people.

Speaking of that.  Justin Chase is now OM of all Beasley's stations and they brought Sean Lynch back to program KOAS and KVGS.  Wonder if they have any plans for change?  I haven't noticed any changes on the air yet.

I heard that Beasley fired more of the former Riviera employees today including OASIS morning co-host Cisco and everyone from the promotions department.

Yes she is still there as well as Dana and Cat Lee.

Will Beasley tweak KOAS? Do they feel the "Oasis" name has too much smooth jazz baggage?

I wonder if they feel that KOAS competes with or compliments KKLZ?
