I've never heard WOR either at night here in Tampa and not even back when I first moved down here when 710 Miami was still WGBS and that Cuban station interference wasn't there.

About 20 miles NNW of WGN:
WDSM Near sunset/sunrise. KEEL Most of the evening and overnight. WOR All evening and overnight. Signal not as strong from them since new towers went up. KCMO Near sunset/sunrise; before pattern change. KGNC Near sunset; before pattern change. Haven't tried yet around sunrise. In the winter sometimes Cuba is heard on the frequency, especially when 570 from Cuba is coming in really good.

I live near where Stormy is. Forgot to mention WDSM, I've also heard it a few times before they power down/after they power up.

From Lexington KY:
In the daytime, I used to get WEKC from Williamsburg, KY (about 85 miles South) "weak, but listenable"
Now, WLW's IBOC Crud totally obliterates 710 during the day.
At night, It's WOR usually over a misture of WLW's IBOC, WAQI and other Spanish Stations.

Wasn't there a Canadian rock station on 710 kHz once?

That would be CHYR ("Cheer") in Leamington, Ontario. For a number of years they operated on 710 during the day with 10,000 watts and on 730 at night, first with 250 watts, then 500 and beginning in 1980 with 1000 watts. During nighttime operation the call letters were CHIR (later to be known as "CHYR-7"). CHYR made the move to FM (96.7) in 1994; just prior to the switch they discontinued operation on 730 and operated full-time on 710. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/CHYR-FMwww.broadcasting-history.ca/index3.php?url=http%3A//www.broadcasting-history.ca/listings_and_histories/radio/histories.php%3Fid%3D345%26historyID%3D135CHYR put a good signal into Windsor but overall coverage of the Detroit area wasn't really that remarkable, especially at night. Amazingly, sixteen years later the CHYR (AM) patterns can still be viewed here: www.radio-locator.com/cgi-bin/finder?call=chyr&x=8&y=4&sr=Y&s=C But also note that CHYR and CHYR-7 are still listed in the official FCC records.

From Kailua-Kona on the big island of Hawaii, I got KIRO Seattle last night. Not bad for being a couple thousand miles away...but of course, it is all ocean.
I thought might have heard KSPN LA mixed in with it at one point but could not confirm it. I'll try again tonight.

KIRO does put a decent signal into Hawaii most nights. Haven't heard KSPN there on my last couple of trips.

I did my drive up 101 from Encino to San Jose. Actually split it up, got out of Encino at 4pm yesterda, spent the night in Santa Maria, then finished the rest of the drive this morning.
I didn't find a convergence zone on 710. I had KSPN (Los Angeles) for a little less than the first half the drive. By the time I got to Santa Maria, it was 7pm and skip from the east was rolling in, but still no station was on top of 710. I would have expected KIRO to blow out both California stations, but not at that point of the early evening.
The following morning I got in the car at 7:30am, and the channel was effectively blank. KFIA is apparently too directional for there to be a convergence zone.
Unlike 740, where KBRT and KCBS battle it out for a little while north of Solvang. BTW, the strongest SF station for the first part of my drive this morning (from Santa Maria) was KGO. Obviously they were aimed right at me, but I would have guessed KNBR.
