Ch. 5 News Automation?
« on: September 08, 2010, 02:16:05 PM »

Meredith Corporation, Phoenix, AZ 85017, has posted a job for a "Technical Producer"...

"...oversees the operation of the Ignite automation system and will execute live newscasts
and special projects from that terminal."

"Operates and maintains Ignite automation during the newscast. Directs and switches live
newscasts and special project reports to ensure all show elements are executed flawlessly."

Is this live newscast automation already in place at KPHO-TV, and a vacant position is being
filled, or is it a new installation, meaning some TV production jobs may be eliminated at
channel 5?

Just "telling it like it is." Roll Eyes

Years ago, I promised that I wouldn't be like my parents.  So, I am going to embrace technology!  Although it does eliminate human jobs, it creates other jobs like software developers, help desk positions, and the like. Wink
