Reminds me of a funny suggestion I read, I think, in TV Guide back when Lucy made her last attempt at a sitcom.  This was shortly after Dallas wrote off an entire season as a dream (famously spoofed later in the final episode of Newhart).  The suggestion was: Old Lucy dreams she is young and married to a Cuban bandleader in 50s New York.  Like many people, Old Lucy dreams in Black and White.  So all they'd have to do is insert the "dream sequences" into a wrap-around with Old Lucy (in color).
