The Bay's Hit Music Station ... In Austin :-P

When does Sunny 99.1 begin Christmas Music?
« on: November 22, 2010, 10:49:17 AM »

Does anyone know when Sunny 99.1 (or any station in Houston) begins Christmas music?

KKMJ, KVIL and KQXT in Austin, Dallas, and SA have begun already.

Houston is probably the largest market in the country that has not begun its Christmas music yet.

At their regular time the day after Thanksgiving.  CC doesn't invest to much in to KODA it took them a decade to air Delihah on the station, while sister KQXT was raking in the dough with Delihah, KODA had Zoey Bonet. Under the reign of SFX Broadcasting KODA was a better ran station. In my opinon I miss the old KODA 99.1fm (Before the Sunny moniker) back in 1988.

I hate Delilah for the sole reason that she displaced Zoe Bonet.

Mike I agree. Unfortunately, Zoe got caught up in the bean counters programming tactics that many of Houston great talents have endured. It certainly had nothing to do with her talent. The last time I had contact with Zoe, she was doing really well with Met Life and still does a lot of voice over work.

There is life after radio.

The post is not correct.  The translator was granted a move from 99.9 to 99.7

Wrong thread, cowboy.

I'd be happy if a station would not bow to 'convention' and completely boycotted all 'Christmas' music.

Humbug.  Grin

Ooooo.  You're a mean one Mr. Grinch.  But, it would be nice to see the commercial stations stick to what they do and let KSBJ play the Christmas music.  Only thing is, they don't play the Beach Boys Christmas Album; or any of the other R&R goodies.
