Hello BP,

For now there is no complete playlist accessible to the general public. As close as you are going to get is:

http://www.yes.com/#KTCV

As you have run into, it's incomplete and occasionally reports the incorrect song.

I'll make a note to myself when I go in to upload my music on Tuesday, I'll look into the logs and see if I can find it.

Regards.

Hey Stephanie, I was hoping you could help me find a song. It played around 9:07-9:09 AM today after "Runaway Train" by Soul Asylum and just before "You Were Right" by Oh no! Oh my!.

I noticed that someone requested you play "Institutionalized" by Suicidal Tendencies...and it just ended up on air about an hour ago, two songs before the song I'm looking for. I don't know if you had a hand in this, but you may just know more about 88.1's playlist than me even if you didn't. I found a couple websites that show a playlist for 88.1, but they only get about two thirds of the songs, and they always miss the ones I like. Do you know what song I am talking about, or do you know how I can get my hands on a complete playlist? Thanks in advance, I know this post is a little random.

At 9:08:56  Steve Palmer Band's "Apparition" played.

It is the cut immediately after "Runaway Train" by Soul Asylum.

Hope that's what ya needed.
Best to ya,
Stephanie

Thanks, it means a lot to me! I'll be sure to tune in to your show

Yes! The Youtube video has 140 views, I never would have found that. Thank you so much! I love his voice in the chorus. How on Earth did you find this out? Just insider info at the station?

Hi BP,

I was sitting in the main studio of KTCV working directly with the station's automation when I posted that prior message. Just a couple clicks is all it took. Insider info? No, not really. In doing my own show I have access to the system including the previously played logs. Just a question of looking at them.

Glad I was able to help you.

Regards.

I've not visited this thread in a while.

A couple things. First, the show is now on KWCW 90.5 in Walla Walla. I drive over and do it live unlike the KTCV version of the show which is run as a voicetracked Nexgen event. KWCW has no automation which is really a throwback. I've taken to building my segments in Adobe Audition and putting them on CD. That leaves me 2 CDs for the full 2 hrs of programming, with 15 - 20 minute tracks. Track ends, open mic announce then hit play on the CD player as I go into the next segment with another 15-20 minute self contained segment.

So far at KWCW, I've been nailed by the building fire alarm going off (they were testing - with no warning) while I was back announcing. Felt like Guerilla radio fighting the fire alarm with a live mic and trying cleanly toss out.

The show is building an audience. I'm pleasantly surprised. Moving AAA was the right decision. It definitely fills a niche in the market. KEYW 98.3 has incorporated more of the Click concept into their sound, so they are touching into stuff I have been playing.

I just bought an RE 320 EV Mic with all the fixings and a Yamaha MG82cx mixer with the intention of  building and voicing the show here to offer it up to other stations. This is a grand experiment. Ed Dailey, who does syndicates his own Legends of Country and runs his show live on KORD is helping me out.

It's kind of exciting times.

Thought I'd give an update on things since I'm poking around.

First item, the show is no longer on KTCV 88.1. Due to some direction changes at KTCV, all specialty shows have been eliminated, including mine.

Second, I'm still on KWCW 90.5 in Walla Walla. Doing the show Monday mornings during the drive. KWCW streams at KWCW.net. I start the KWCW fall schedule on Monday morning.

Third, still podcasting and shopping the show out. A few great bites a few not so great. So it goes.

Regards,
Stephanie

Another update since there are things to report.

First item, the show will be returning to KTCV 88.1/Kennewick starting next month. This came about a couple weeks ago. It was a pleasant surprise. The OM is a great guy who believes in me and really likes the show. Originally, KTCV was going to go in a different direction. They reevaluated that decision and moved more in a more mainstream/modern rock sound. The OM is picking the show back up because he wants to get the AAA niche until someone thinks outside the box and does it commerically here. To my knowledge, I'll be the only non-student produced show that'll be airing on KTCV.

The show will be produced entirely at home via Adobe Audition similar to what I do with KWCW.  KWCW though, I crack the mic live. For KTCV, everything will be prebuilt and dumped into NexGen as segments. I have a functional production computer and the results with the Elecro Voice RE320 mic are ok.

There have been other things I continue to work on. Meetings with local Operations Managers et cetera. One day perhaps something will come out of those those. It's in a rather odd phase right now with New Northwest Broadcasters still being in limbo due to the FCC spike of the Townsquare deal.

As a wise man once said, for the moment... "that's all folks!"   Wink

Edit: If anyone is interested in listening to the KWCW broadcast for now. The show is on Facebook with podcasts. You can find it here:

http://www.facebook.com/pages/The-Revolution-Radio-Show/192696534075007

Some changes will be in store over the next few months. New imaging etc.

I'd love anyone's feedback!

Update:

11/20/11 The Revolution Radio Show returns to KTCV at it's scheduled time of 7:00pm every Sunday. We're excited to be back on in our home market.

I'm in talks with a Western Washington station, one in Oregon and another Eastern Washington station.

In January, I'll be consolidating the show to a syndicated version across the board. After the first of the year, the show could very well be on 4 or 5 stations.

It's not a money making deal, for now, just doing it out of the love of radio.

Regards.

Update January 2012:

Well, sometimes a restart works out, sometimes it doesn't. As of the second week of December and 3 weeks of returning to KTCV, The Revolution Radio Show is permanent hiatus from KTCV/88.1 Kennewick, WA and on termporary hiatus from KWCW/ Walla Walla, WA.

In regards to the short return and sudden departure from KTCV, all I can say publicly that when politics overrides broadcasting ethos, it's time politely bow out. Which I did.

I will continue in this downtime upload occasional podcasts. Once I get resettled and moving foward in other elements of life, I will return in pushing the little show that's not done for money, but just to do it and give markets that don't have a quirky AAA 3 hour show a chance for something different.
