KHTK to FM Simulcast?
« on: December 09, 2010, 02:46:40 PM »

Okay, complete speculation here... but I think it's interesting that I don't hear KHTK branding themselves as "Sports 1140" anymore.

Could it be that a simulcast may be coming?

Glad to hear that they expanded playing the Don G. inspired jingles.  Not enough jingles on radio anymore.

1 Vote for the jingles being HORE-E-BULL!  G uses them for camp value (I hope!)... 24 hours a day they just sound lame.  Although "Donnie G" does sound a little stuck in time so he might think they sound sweeeeet!

What FM station would CBS sacrifice to place KHTK on the FM dial?  Not KNCI or KSFM...See ya 100.5?  Doesnt make sense as long
as KHTK is just a 2-share station..

100.5 isn't a likely option either, since they're currently looking for a morning show.

Could you explain that, please? 100.5 wouldn't flip right now ... because they don't have a morning show? Meaning that, if they had a morning show they would consider flipping?

They might flip, but they wouldn't simulcast KHTK. That WAS the original supposition, right? Why would you actively seek a new morning show if you were going to simulcast another station?

To keep the competition at bay. The element of surprise.
