To hell with Jan Jeffries and Michael Damsky should be ashamed.

On the surface, I couldn't agree more.  But the impression I get is there are a few other contractual issues that...for the time being....may dictate who gets what time slot at the onset.  Thus, it could be that bringing JRL onboard mandates some "odd" airshifts....at least now.

I personally think Lew Dickey and his cloud company are the poster child for all that's wrong with commercial radio in the U.S.  I wouldn't put anything past them.  But...in this instance, I we need to see how this might eventually unfold.

Even if you're right putting Dick Biondi on at a time when most people are asleep is an insult not only to him, but his fans.

I don't disagree.  And my "theory" is just that.  My guess at why the lineup might have been arranged the way it is.  Along with my cockeyed optimism that the near-invisibility of Biondi may turn out to be a temporary thing.

The sad part for me is that no matter how great one's fame and accomplishments may be, no matter how great one's health, abilities, and enthusiasm might be, the suits, beancounters, and 24-year old associate media planners, etc. determine what comes next in a hall of fame career.

Sadly...what you've done....is always trumped by .....what you're doing.

i think they're looking for who's next after biondi, after all dick is at some point going to retire or something, given his tenure on radio sooner rather than later & landecker would be an obvious choice to replace him. its too bad wls-fm never saw the wisdom of bringing in OTHER radio vets(in or out of the market) to fill the other timeslots in the past. example... the morning show is awful, does anybody think it rises to the level of (WLS) or like a landecker or any number of people you could name? that would be a better fit?

I would not be surprised if Dick pre recorded his show each night now. The live Dick Biondi Show maybe something of the pass. Mark my words!

Agreed on the morning show. Put Landecker in the morning & leave Biondi in his normal time slot.
What this move tells me is that they are trying to force Dick Biondi out. How many of his listeners are going to be
able to hear him from 11PM to 2AM?
This not only an insult to him, but insulting to his many fans.

Actually, I'd been thinking the same thing.  That he'll phone it in.  Hopefully on a temporary basis.

Which means what--that he'll be moved back to his regular time or that he'll try to go elsewhere?
