More on what Biondi thinks about all this!

This move was made for one reason--to force Dick Biondi out. Michael Damsky's quotes show complete disregard for the listening audience.
Dick Biondi's Friday night request show was the best thing on Chicago radio.

Goodbye WLS-FM. Hope your ratings take a major dive!

“In his new timeslot, Dick will no longer have to compete for listeners against primetime TV and evening sports events. ”

No, but he will have to compete with something else people love.  Sleep!

I'm glad Biondi's still on the air at all, and that he's being a trooper about it.    Even if this is an attempt to push him out, his attitude towards this indicates that it won't work.   Besides, at least he's on for an hour before midnight, and only until 2 AM.   Go Dick!

And honestly, I think the station as a whole sounds better than ever.

Doesn't matter to me how it sounds, because of moving Biondi to sleeping hours I won't be listening to this station anymore.

This move was made for one reason-

Yes, the reason is that while in 25-54 the midday rank was often in the top 5, evening was averaging well below 20th.

It's been repeated, but Biondi has an awesome career, starting in Youngstown, OH, than WKBW in Buffalo and is one of the few survivors of the WLS conversion from Prairie Farmer station in 1960, which debuted with Sam Holman, Mort Crowley, Bob Hale, Gene Taylor & Ed Grennan. Was Jim Dunbar there too? I was around, in Central Ill, when that happened, he was in the 9-12 midnight slot where he belonged. What a career! Very nice man too. When he's on the song selections are more of what I like.

Yes--Jim Dunbar was there as an original. He moved to KGO in 1963. After the first 6 months Art Roberts replaced Ed Grennan.
Biondi was the only reason I listened to WLS-FM. Now he'll be on when I'm sleeping so it's adios WLS-FM for me. Not that they care.
I'll be switching to WJMK during my listening hours.

Wonder how long Biondi will stay at this shift?  Maybe K Hits or the Drive should try to secure him for an evening slot. WLS should of put Landecker on 6-9 PM and Biondi 9-Midnight (original shift)

Why does Landecker need 5 hours?Huh? This would solve the situation. Just Sayin'

Exactly! Biondi 9--midnight makes the most sense. What the heck do most of us who want to hear him, but have to get up early suppose to do?
That's why, and I am speculating, that it appears that WLS-FM wants him gone. They did it this way to avoid the terrible PR they would get if they actually fired him.
This whole things stinks.
