Paul: get over it man.  WHDH is obligated to air any and all information regarding an Amber Alert.  It's the way it is.  Who cares about some fluff piece on NBC News anyway?  Well, evidently you're the only one who cares.  Get over it.  WHDH did the right thing.  In an Amber Alert case, it's not about who's first and who's not.  It's simply about getting the information out to the viewers.  If you dislike Channel 7 so much, why are you watching it?

Again, a crawl at the bottom of the screen would have been sufficient to tell the viewers the Amber Alert was over.

Just more tabloid hype from Ansin.

Did 4 for 5 do the same thing? I was watching the NBC Nightly News and the only station that carries it on my Comcast system is  Ch. 7.
Seven's history under Ansin is now and always has been , ' if it bleeds it leads.'

Again you are unfamiliar with the rules of a CAE (Child Abduction Emergency).
Tabloid, no. Legal, Yes.

Now lets all relax a little...
And by the way, if you missed the story, you could have watched it on NBC's netcast at 10pm that they have been plugging for two weeks straight...

So you are now drifting off the original topic of the amber alert to WHDH being a tabloid? Why didn't you just title your post "I hate WHDH because it's a tabloid station" instead of bringing up a pointless-point about the amber alert in a veiled attempt to just post your general dislike for the station.

Along with the EAS activiation. All CT TV stations will also forward the EAS alerts and their subisquent cancellations via EAS.

(And do the constant crawl)

There is nothing "veiled" about Ansin's Channel 7. Everyone knows what their on-air style is. It has nothing to do with the on-air talent. Their roster is fairly good but the station's news philosophy leave much to be desired in my opinion. Let's just say they don't have a strong intellectual bent and will never be confused with WVCB Channel 5 which is still the "Tiffany" news outlet in Boston.

Thank you for making my point TX! This isnt 1987. If you missed something...anything...you can find it out there...

A 50's retirement story, no matter how much you liked it, was the best thing to interrupt if they were to interrupt anything.

Something that DID piss me off is when CBS interrupted Price Is Right a couple weeks ago when Libby was charged...everyone knew it would happen. But they interrupted. At the end of it, I understood why...no matter HOW MUCH I wanted to see Plinko.

This has alot more to do with your hatred of 7 than your being angry about what they interrupted. You've mentioned Ed Ansin and tabloid so much...meanwhile it is a story about two children who were found alive. Cmon Pauly.

Paul:  at this point, your responses have NOTHING to do with Channel 7's airing of the Amber Alert information.  You are going off on a pointless tangent about how you dislike Mr. Ansin and WHDH.  Please get back on topic or please refrain from posting.  This is getting old really fast.  Please go away.

SO'D: The question was and is - was it necessary to interupt a national news program to tell us the Amber Alert was over when a crawl at the bottom of the screen would have sufficed. Show me the chapter and verse which says a television station MUST interupt an ongoing program to tell the public an Amber Alert is OVER. I am a doubting Thomas on this. It just seems to fit 7's MO to sensationalize everything they do. Just not my style but I guess I am in a minority.
