It would be if it were true, but in fact they had a very large booth near one of the main Central Hall entrances.

Ah, here's the problem.  They're not listed on either the roster or central hall map as Ibiquity but as HD Radio.  And their booth isn't that large at least not compared to Nautel's.  Anyway I was there looking at television transmitters and automation systems.

In a semi-related topic, XM radio (when a decent separate company away from non-techno-friendly Killer Karmazin) had built a plug-n-play and stash XM radio tuner with a TRANSMITTER with RDS!  So, you could read the song titles on your RDS car radio without making any physical connection to the radio!  I wanted like hell to buy one of these, as it would perfect in a lease car not to rip it up trying to run wires to the antenna or drill holes to get an aux cable, but simply 'broadcast' the song titles with a built-in RDS transmitter! True genius, but not for sale

I have an FM transmitter for my car that transmits the data from the ID3 tag of an MP3 file as RDS. It was only $35:

Apparently RDS hardware isn't that expensive, there is no reason that XM couldn't build a RDS transmitter for XM Radio at around the same price.

The problem with that is that XM can't build anything....it no longer exists.  And Sirius (all that's left) is too cheap to develop a decent line of stand alone radios with any kind of ground breaking features.

If somebody wants to partner with me, I want to design an XM / Sirius dock that will have an iPod plug on the other end, allowing you to use the thousands of iPod devices with your Satellite Radio. Car radios even have iPod controls - so why not use that to display and/or control your Satellite Radio?
I know Mel doesn't give a rat's arse about technology, but I do, and don't know why XM & Delphi couldn't come-up with some nice new toys for SatRad that could be a parasite to use the iPod base to their advantage!
