I wish I COULD hear them! I have to go out in the car and drive a little ways before I get even a hint of their signal. It's REALLY nice to have it in the car, tho! Would have been GREAT, had they started operations while I was working down in Norwalk! I could have listened to them every day, on that wretched commute, and even at work, itself!

The technical term is "Tropospheric Ducting". It's when layers of the atmosphere act like a "waveguide" to VHF frequencies, allowing them to be heard over much longer distances than normal. Weather fronts frequently cause these conditions.
