Okay, now that we've taken it outside...
DALLASBOYZ, I'm calling you out.
Explain yourself. What have you done that is "very very successful" but insult and troll?
Why is every post you make designed to hurt people who have already suffered from the consolidation and commoditization of the broadcasting industry?
Your shallow knowlege of the industry, and your complete lack of comprehension of the human factor reveal someone who has little, if any experience in this field.

If those words are too complicated for your limited vocabulary, then answer this:

Who cares what you think?

I got tired of correcting Dallasboyz' very inaccurate statements about ratings and Arbitron. So I concur as to his lack of knowledge about radio.

But the comment about "goodwill" was cold, crass and inaccurate. While running by the numbers may work for a while, it catches up with you. A station that is a member of the community will win out on buying decisions in the long run. "Goodwill" is a combination of ethics, responsibility, and caring. Someone who dismisses goodwill lacks in all those qualities.

Well said.  I found his most recent comment especially disturbing; Heaven help the good people who are still in radio if that's the case.  As for me I hope that for him the old adage applies: "time wounds all heels."

Dallasboyz, will you please elaborate?  You don't have to say your name, but what it your history in Radio and what do you do now?  You claim to have all this success but you do seem to have trouble with simple facts and grammar.  Care to elaborate?  We might respect what you have to say a little more if we know where it comes from.

Amen DALLASBOYZ!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!   It sounds like from many if KASE and KVET had the SAME lineup, presentation, music etc.. that they would STILL be #1 stations today.  These posts make me laugh... hard.    "I remember when............."  give me a break.  What happened in radio a YEAR ago is HISTORY.  It's a new era, new generation, new technologies to compete with, new lifestyles and listening habbits, new ratings measurements, new landscape, new market compositions...  that's radio today.  I've won in diary... it wasn't tough.  Get over yourselves.

Amen DALLASBOYZ!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Amen Radio512? To what parts of what DALLASBOYZ says?
That it's perfectly justified to fire someone who has a long association with your station to save a few bucks? That it is good business practice to replace a local voice with someone in Dallas?
That it's okay to just let him find out he's gone when he shows up for work and someone else is doing his job? Is that what you're saying 'AMEN' to?
This great success of yours; I can't see it because I don't get the ratings break-downs you get. Tell me this, though. How does KVET's monthly billing compare to what it was 15 years ago, when the Austin market was hundreds of thousands smaller? That's what matters.
If you so gladly dump experienced people, grossly under-pay the ones who remain, neglect service to the community (locally gathered news, on-staff meteorologist) and insult the intelligence of people who actually understand what TRADITIONAL COUNTRY IS (hint- it isn't Rascal Flatts!) where will you be in the future?
Despite what you think about 'listening habbits', landscapes, measurements and market compositions, broadcasting comes down to one thing: A relationship between people. If you don't respect the people who work for you, and don't respect the people you think you serve, you will end up in the dusty history of Austin Country Radio. We'll save you a seat.
