Back in the 60s when the frequencies were really clear I caught WBZ in Seattle along with WABC, WNBC, & WCBS. Because of their directional array, WBZ had a great signal towards the west.

In February 1987, I picked up a clear signal from WBZ - under KTWO - from Park City, UT.  This was with a garden-variety Walkman in an interior room facing the atrium!!  The noise level on the band was a lot lower, even then.

That's pretty impressive being so close to KTWO.

I snagged 'BZ Monday night in Sioux Falls, SD.  Obviously not as impressive as AZ or UT, but they're still getting out!  Signal was weak, but they were on top of the channel.  There was some noise at my hotel location....but nothing excessive.  There were also some occasional moments of splatter from a nearby local on 1000.

That's still a good haul these days.

I listened again last night. The music sounded like oldies, I wasn't able to make a positive ID, but WBZ came in like gangbusters.

I wonder what you are hearing? We know now it's not Memphis.

Do you think that it could possibly be WEBS? If that's the case, then that's one hell of a catch.

Maybe they're not turning their power down. Hard to believe you could catch them on night power.

I didn't want to start a brand new thread to ask a question about WBZ so I'll ask this question here. I've always heard on here and elsewhere that WBZ used to be audible in 38 states but I can't find with google which states are among those 38. Also has anyone on here ever received WBZ in Alaska or Hawaii?
