Columbus, Georgia
« on: August 23, 2011, 04:12:19 PM »

What's the state of broadcasting in Columbus these days? It's been years since I've been there and don't really keep up with it since I've been gone. I've seen ratings and it seems WFXE isn't so dominant anymore. Any reason behind that?

Clear Channel blew up B101, flipped it to 101.3 the Beat, moved it to 98.3 the Beat, and then transferred Magic 101.3 to the Aloha Station Trust.  Also, Q107.3 is a lot more dance-focused.

Jimbo Martin left CC and bought the old McClure stations.  They launched 103.7 Lite FM and 106.9 "Really Rocks", which is actually WRCG-AM simulcast.
