The Break up of REM :(
« on: September 23, 2011, 09:53:24 PM »

REM had great times in the past 30 years. I'm a fan of them when they were doing music Video for MTV. I do remember "End Of the World as we Know it" , "Losing My Religion", "Stand", "Orange Crush" were big hits at their peak and when MTV was at their peak. They influenced the AAA format. Good luck to life after running a great band.

you need to go back and listen to the entire catalog, they were pioneers of good lo-fi college rock.  their first 8 records were awesome, and although the last few have been less impressive they are still good.

well the album in 2004 and 2008 were faded but in the 1990's at their peak they were good. but I hope the REM Crew can succeed in a different form.

Breaking up has certainly been a good career move -- they've been getting tons of Triple-A airplay the past few weeks. Wink
