WFTE Scranton
« on: June 17, 2011, 09:45:39 AM »

In recent weeks I have noticed that WFTE is now broadcasting on 105.7 - kind of.  I like talk radio of any kind so I figure I would tune in.  If I work real hard I can get it on one of my radios,  a Kaito KA1103 -  I look like Radar from MASH trying to tune it in.  I find that I can hardly hear it on my car radios and other radios at home.  All of this bad signal and I live in Scranton.  The 90.3 frequency does not make it to Scranton,  I am sure the deer and bear love listening to the 90.3 frequency.  I can only hope they improve or they will see a very short run.

They're running ten watts on 105.7 at the moment.
This coverage map is about right to the purple boundary. (Click on blue words)

I have tried to listen to them from time to time but not much luck.  105.9 from the Poconos is easier to hear in the City of Scranton than WFTE.

Well the Endicott station is all over them at 105.7; pretty much keeps them local to
Scranton regardless. I can get the 90.3 signal in areas in Wilkes-Barre where there
are an abundance of phone poll wires, so this tells me they need to work on the ground-plane elements of their antenna. The coat hanger just ain't doin it.  Cheesy
