Nothing but static on the WIBC stream between the tones. How did it go elsewhere?

Was there supposed to be a message? It sounded like tones & then some sort of white (maybe purple) noise  for 20 seconds and then more tones.

I thought there was supposed to be a message.

But I'm not in terrestrial radio, so I don't know.

TV-wise, WISH, WNDY and WIPX missed it. I was watching through U-verse. The other stations had it.

Reports coming in from around the country indicate this much heralded national EAS test failed; no audio or no activation.

We got activation at WEEM, but all static. Sounds like different regions got different bad results.

Looks like the test had problems nationwide. And people think this government is actually capable of all the conspiracy theories people embrace? They can't even get a simple EAS test right.

Boys and girls ... the dolcet tones heard in some locations between the bursts were delivered through ... are you ready? PHONE COUPLERS! New Millennium system, Alex G Bell technology from our Gubmint ... that would be their butt they can't hit with either hand!!!
