Looking for an inexpensive (free even) long form Christmas show. Any ideas?

Instead of "Holly Jolly Christmas" and "Feliz Navidad" over and over, how about 12 (or 24, or 48 if you want to repeat) hours of classic Christmas shows from radio's past?

"Christmas On The Radio with Wyatt Cox" can be broken up into hour-long stand-alone segments or run for as short or as long a period as you like.  Wyatt isn't a "big radio voice" guy, but his passion for the programs really shines through and makes his comments about the performers the real "icing on the cake."

The show is available on a barter basis (which, at last check, was strictly PSAs), provides 11 minutes an hour for local avails (or news and a Christmas song, however you'd like to do it), and is market-exclusive.

I highly recommend it!

Contact Andy Olson of http://www.RadioFreePhoenix.com. He does a Christmas show (I forget how long it is) like no other! Perhaps he would be interested and could provide a demo.

ABC Christmas Eve 1967 in Atlanta
« Reply #5 on: December 08, 2012, 08:43:17 AM »

Somewhere around here I have a cassette recording of the last 10 minutes (11:50-Midnight) of a program of Christmas music WGST carried on Christmas Eve 1967.  Would have been a Sunday night.  Had to be 1967 because it was before the 4-network split.  Last two numbers were the HALLELUJAH CHORUS and CAROL OF THE BELLS.  Seemingly part of an entire evening of seasonal music they offered to the stations.  Does anybody remember that?  Can you tell me anything more about it?  Can't remember the name of the guy hosting, but I can't forget the quote of his as the show ended:  "And now, having raced across the Atlantic Ocean at 1,000 miles an hour, Christmas Day is touching the tip of Maine, to spread all across America.  Good night, and Merry Christmas from the ABC Radio Network."

Thanks, folks.
