Pulsar 107.3 Leaning CHR?
« on: October 31, 2011, 11:23:17 AM »

I was scanning the dial the other day and heard a bunch of English Top 40 songs on 107.3, which is usually Spanish Pop.  I don't remember them playing that much CHR in the past.  It seemed like a good 40-50% of their playlist was something you'd hear on Channel 9-3-3.

Could they be experimenting with the PPM numbers in consideration for a format/language flip?  How are they doing ratings wise?

They have been CHR since the late 90's, but the percentage of English CHR goes up and down depending on the market, the product and the whim of the station management. They have also been known to play more English CHR material at night and on weekends.

CHRs all across Latin America mix Spanish language CHR with English language CHR... some playing more English material than Spanish, others the opposite. Very, very few play only Spanish language CHR.
