My grocery store was closed Christmas Day, but the day before, I heard "Kiss on My List" from Hall and Oates and "Minute by Minute" by the Doobies. Since I couldn't really hear lyrics a lot of the time, I only recognized one song as being about Christmas, and it was a good one, in contrast to two really bad ones in a row the week before. I haven't confirmed that the store uses FM1. I only know they use Muzak, but at one time they had a custom program for the entire chain, with ads.

I don't know what my local Walmart use, but when I visit my local Walmart around the last week of October, they had all-Christmas playing already way before our local AC flips to Christmas on Thursday the week before Thanksgiving.

When I worked at Wal-Mart almost 25 years ago, they had instrumental Christmas music (probably muzak) playing.  But we interrupted it so much paging each other that store customers probably never even noticed!  Grin
