No real bump for WALK with Christmas music this year (unlike WLTW which was above an 8 in NYC).  It got them from 4th to 1st, but usually they've had a 7 or 8 themselves.   Sampling the station post holiday music, it's sloppy, unfocused and the audio is (still) horrendous.   I've heard BLI in stores that used to play WALK.  Things aren't good on Colonial Dr.

Party 105 seems to be enjoying a bump in the wake of the Vic Latino Interview publicity..

I am disappointed that country station WJVC's ratings and cume have been dropping quite sharply.
Any guesses as to the reason?

I am disappointed that country station WJVC's ratings and cume have been dropping quite sharply.
Any guesses as to the reason?

1. HORRENDOUS audio
2. Possibly people who were sampling/trying out the format have gone back to other stations
3. Signal - only covers Suffolk decently
4. See #1

Seriously, WRCN and WJVC have some of the worst audio on Long Island - they need to ditch the Barix boxes and get a decent STL. Party may be pushing 200% modulation, but at least the audio doesn't sound like a bad webstream.

WALK is so far gone that even spinning the holiday hit's couldn't give them a decent shot in the arm. Parker doesn't sound like he fits, and the playlist show just how much they are trying to knock down BLI.

Country hasn't done well on Long Island in years just like in NYC. All past attempts within the last 15-20 years eventually failed.

WJVC, My Country 96.1 is back up to the higher ratings it enjoyed shortly after it started last year. Their 1.8 is not bad for a one year old station with a Suffolk County based signal that barely makes it into eastern Nassau County  Wink.
I still think JVC should try to buy WIGX 94.3 for a simulcast., It has a signal that gets out considerably further into Nassau County, and a rating of only 1.0.
