Don't you just love some of the idiot radio loosers that gave fool identities such as 141 AMK or 147 XQD thinking they had to join the band wagon with
absurd faux copies of top flight imaging such as Y-100 or Kiss -108, any nominations for the most ridiculous bad tongue twister monikers?

In the 70s WMEX 1510 was "X-15". My brother won an album by them--Bo Donaldson and the Heywoods!

This is a good topic on its own:  "Out-of-staters buying a local station, eschewing its history and screwing up the station".  It has happened many times before.   Cite some examples?

Yeah what about that guy that owns an AM in Cambridge on 740 and one in Maine on 730  Grin

yup, I left myself wide open for that!   Cheesy  (However, I was an in-stater when I bought 740.)

It also called itself "The station you asked for" during its first few months. Who knew that what we were asking for instead of the market's only contemporary country station was one that played the same uptempo AC you could find on any number of stations, only on a weaker signal?

What about that guy?  Let's see...  He fought at auction to purchase 740.  He fought in court to obtain heritage calls for 740.  740 did so well in the ratings that he was forced to change the business model of the station because of the proportional increase in music fees, and is now listener supported.
