Spanish Music Heard Instead of Indian Programming on WLIE
« on: January 19, 2012, 09:19:33 AM »

WLIE 540 AM, which can be heard over a rather wide area, had been broadcasting full-time a brokered format of programming aimed at people from the Asian subcontinent.
This morning they are airing continuous Spanish religious music. Apparently a different outfit is leasing time on the station.

Too bad.  More of the same old junk on Long Island AM.  The Indian music was a refreshing change - it was actually a pre-set station on my car radio when I'd come up to visit. How many Spanish Christian stations do we need on AM?  It's all the same message repeated on various different frequencies, by different screaming, distorted voices.   Roll Eyes  Tongue

Depending on the day and time I've heard both Spanish and Indian Music on WLIE. The other day I heard them ID the station as "WLIE Radio International."
