Ramona Robinson is a big local TV star. The others just aren't in the same league....not that they aren't good. Not that they aren't nice people.

As usual I must have some ax to grind because I made a comment about a veteran talent in this market.  I wonder how Sharon Reed and Lynna Lai feel about Romona pushing them out of a job.  Some of you on here are simply amazing.  Get over it not everyone likes seeing the same recycled talent.  It is called an opinion.  Understand that not everyone shares your same view.
Have another beer, baby. Unless you'd like to kick some dogs first.

All right...play nice you two.

With Reed out and Robinson in, could this mean a new approach to 19 Action News?

Sharon Reed was no doubt the poster child for the flash and sizzle approach of WOIO, while Romona is more the classic news anchor.

I can't see Robinson changing her prim and proper style to fit in with the brashness of Reserve Square  (Romona introducing Jimmy DiMora puppet theater just doesn't compute).

So could Bill Applegate be telling his troops to turn it down a notch or 2?

By this time next year, WOIO will become a big player in Cleveland with the addition of Romona and both "Wheel of Fortune" and "Jeopardy!" from WEWS.  Not sure how the other stations will fare, but don't count out 19.  My guess is 19 and WKYC will battle it out for first and second at 11 with 5 once again third and last.

5 will basically be non-existent against the new lineups on 19 and 3.  I do wonder if Romona will anchor solo or have a co-anchor, whether in-house or from elsewhere.  The shake-up also results in changes on morning, which would now have ALL stations making changes in both AM and PM slots.  I would not be surprised if more changes at 19 take place.

Now, I can picture David Wittman with Romona, though Denise might not be thrilled with that pairing.  If Romona gets the 6 and 11PM slots, it will be a reverse from when she was at 43 when they merged with 19 with Denise in the bigger slots.

Wouldn't it be funny if Sharon or Lynna...or even Denise...went over to Channel 3.  That would be something.  I do think all can also do well at 5 and even 8.

Remember that Denise left 8 months after Wilma Smith arrived from 5 to take over the 5 and 11PM newscasts, causing Denise to be reduced to 6PM only.  It wasn't until 19 offered her a spot on the 6 and 11PM news that she left to help start a then-new newscast.  Of course, 19 soon merged with 43, and a few years after the change, Romona left and landed at 3 after it seemed Denise had been getting the more "important" slots at 19.

Now it has to take a top-rated anchor from elsewhere (Romona) to be called upon to help boost ratings instead of who they brought at the beginning (Denise).

My prediction is Denise heads over to Channel 3 with Romona moving to 19.

Well, it looks like "19 Action News" wanted to build a "super team" for 6 and 11.  It'll be interesting to see if 2 "queen bees" can co-exist.

It also breaks up the nearly 10 year run of David Wittman and Denise Dufala of being the main anchor team (though they'll still be paired at 4 p.m., so they can still technically keep their streak alive).
