That is because it is brokered ethnic.  According to their website they play Conjunto, Salsa, and Texas Gardening Shows, with a Texas Music twist.  Think of it like now defunct-KNAF, KEDA, KTJM Port Arthur, and Pre-Tejano days on KRIO 94.1 all mixed in.  It seems like San Antonio's first AM brokered ethnic station.  I may be wrong since I hardly listen to AM in San Antonio unless it is KTSA, KTKR, KONO-86, KLUP (sometimes), WOAI, KAHL, or Dx'ing KVNS out of Brownsville.

Just heard a polka song played a little while ago.  Then heard someone say "interested in bringing back polka so San antonio please call the number"  I can't remember the number they gave out, but with a 210 area code.

My mother would resent that since she lives in Tulsa!  That was a move-in from Atoka, and I've never heard it on-air when I've gone to Tulsa to visit her.  It seems like someone told me it was running the urban programming that was on 1340 there until a copper thief took them off-the-air.  I believe it's a daytimer, and, yes, it's also brokered out.  I wouldn't set my expectations too high for 1520, but, then again, I don't see anyone doing that!
