The Buenos Aires FM and AM dial
« on: February 08, 2012, 09:08:09 AM »

Okay, in this subject I'll try to list the most important and powerful radio networks and stations broadcasting from Buenos Aires City and the most powerful stations from the Buenos Aires Province. It doesn't pretends to be highly complete, since that would be impossible due to the myriad of entirely local stations every city and partido has. I hope it's being informative to anyone who might be interested on Buenos Aires radio Smiley

530 Radio de las Madres (talk/cultural)

The radio dial, specially on FM, is without doubts absolutely crowded. However I didn't list any local station here, so it might not be so noticeable  Tongue I hope this have served as a glimpse for anyone who might wonder what you can hear in Buenos Aires Smiley

You're welcome! Smiley Millenium plays both instrumentals and soft English-language music. It's strange you can't listen to it, though. I have never seen an Argentine station restricting its stream to people inside Argentina exclusively. Have you tried http://active.telecomcdn.com/fmmillenium/fmmillenium ?

Enjoying Millenium FM now, through the player pop-up. http://www.fmmilenium.com.ar/radio.html

When I click on the URL provided by cd, nothing happens, my media player remains 'Ready'. However, when I click the 'play' button (your choice of WinAmp, WMP or Apple) on the site's player pop-up, a new URL is created in my media player, each URL being different. If I re-click that URL, the media player does not play the stream, but again goes into 'Ready' mode. This is really curious...does this mean that every time one clicks the stream button, a new URL is created, but only for one time???

Interesting, that with the rest of the dial so crowded, there's only one station below 92.7?

Our OP might have accidentally missed listing them.  This page might be dated a bit, but:

(Two are below 88 MHz!)

I intentionally omitted listing all the local/regional radio stations, since Buenos Aires is HUGE, with thousands of radio stations sharing the same frequencies, many of them operating illegally. As an example, I'll list the stations found between 87.5 and 93.1 in my city (Pilar Partido, Buenos Aires Province)

87.5 FM Soldados (Hot AC)
87.7 Cadena del Altísimo (Christian)
87.9 Radio Universidad (college)
88.1 FM Plus (Hot AC)
88.3 Estación Pilar (Hot AC)
88.5 Radio Panamericana (Latin/Hot AC)
88.7 FM Pancochi (Bolivian songs)
88.9 FM Renuevo (Christian)
89.1 FM Touché (rock/reggae)
89.1 Radio Universidad de La Matanza (college) - yes, two different stations in the same frequency!
89.3 FM Santa María (easy listening)
89.9 FM 89.9 (oldies)
90.1 FM Trujuy (Lite AC)
90.5 FM Monterrey (hard rock)
90.7 FM Scombro (tropical)
90.9 Radio Universidad de Belgrano (cultural/Lite AC)
91.1 Radio Caacupé (folk/Paraguayan songs)
91.5 FM del Sol (Lite AC)
91.7 Radio Planeta (Latin)
91.9 Radio Country (Hot AC)
92.1 FM Plaza (Lite AC)
92.5 FM Boreal (Lite AC)
92.7 La 2X4 (tango)
92.9 FM Copacabana (Bolivian songs)
