Well H E double hockey sticks. I think South 107 just wants rid of Moby. This is just a way to wiggle out of a contract. Granted Moby screwed up but at least he didn't say booger! Didn't Tom Reagan channel 2 F bomb on a remote.

One time Boortz said sugar-honey-iced-tea on the air and Cox didn't so much as blink.

The first hour of today's show has been brilliant. Before playing the first song of the hour, Moby went on about how he wasn't going to go on Facebook all day today. "Tired of that crap - oh, no, he said the 'C' word..." Later, he aired a listener call saying "regardless of what's going on with [bleep], I'm still listening." So now the name "South 107" is apparently one of the words you can't say on the radio now... Oh, and just after that call, they played Toby Keith's "American Ride" which has the term "hot damn" toward the end of the lyrics...

My, how times change. It used to be that you could play "Money" by Pink Floyd or "Who Are You" by the Who uncensored. Now both of those songs are edited. A CC station in another market cut a word for "cat" that starts with "p" out of the Ted Nugent song "Cat Scratch Fever"--first time I ever heard that done (and I had to edit this post because RI doesn't like it either).
Although River is now playing the full, uncensored, album length version of Lou Reed's "Walk On The Wild Side", the version that talks about someone not losing their head. Hadn't heard that version on the radio in a while.
One thing that's interesting is how edits change over time. Charlie Daniels' "Uneasy Rider" used to have the "asses" bleeped, now that passes but the word that rhymes with "flag" ("long-haired, hippie-type, pinko...") gets cut.

It is a PC thing.

@Jabba: As long as we're talking about country radio and edits and you're bringing Clear Channel into it, have you ever heard their edit of Gretchen Wilson's "Here For The Party"? The pre-chorus verse includng a line referring to "b---bustin' men" is replaced by the second pre-chorus verse ("bring on them cowboys and their pickup lines"). Ugh! FYI: There's also a fun little thread about radio edits on the Dallas board... Have fun!

This morning, he opened by welcoming "90%" of the listening audience, and reminded co-host/music director/noted Atlanta radio legend Sandy Weaver "don't cuss." He's also starting to open up on the air more about his "faux pas." This is great radio - then again, I'm somewhat of a radio geek, so I always welcome talking "inside baseball".

Moby just announced on the air that he will be back on South 107 starting Monday. This after I saw a post on Moby's Facebook page yesterday by a listener that South 107 would be making a decision on Moby's future on the station today. Don't know if South 107 announced this on their air already, as I have been listening to the WNGC stream... but I hope Moby didn't jump the gun on them by breaking the news!
Oh yeah... so much for giving listeners until next Thursday to make their feelings be known, huh? I understand they had to disable wall posts on their Facebook page at some point this week due to high listener feedback. The audience has spoken. (Yeah, baby!)
