I can't fathom the idea of a publicity stunt. Why would anytime damage their own brand in this manner?

"Gay-bor-hood?" Really?

I know, but I just didn't have the energy. Although I admit, last year when I was driving through and saw the signs for the Big Gay Yard Sale, I couldn't resist and got an awesome set of end tables.

What will the repercussions be if Berry is arrested for this? You know, with the televised frog march and all?

Don't count on a perp walk or a frog march. Won't happen. This is just a misdemeanor, and if he is charged, he'll just turn himself in at the police station, with his lawyer in tow of course.

He won't spend a moment in jail. He has a smart lawyer who will tell him to plead guilty and pay the fine. It'll be forgotten by next week.

As for what will happen to him vis a vis his job at KTRH, who knows?  Controversy attracts listeners, and he'll probably get a pay raise.

The million dollar question is, has News 92.1 reported this yet?  Shocked

I heard the story covered today on News 92 FM.

The story originated on Houston's NBC affiliate KPRC-TV (not related to KPRC-AM). The story was picked up by the Houston Chronicle, bloggers and eventually KHOU-TV (CBS) and was mentioned on KRIV-TV (Fox). The story has, so far, not been carried by ABC'S O/O KTRK-TV (no relation to KTRH).

It's already last week's news story.  How often do we berate the reporters (tv and radio) who perpetuate a story well beyond it's time, to a public who could care less?  I can recall a number of Houston tv and radio personalities, over the years, who did a lot worse.  But, I'll bet you John Q. Public couldn't even remember their names or what they did, two weeks after it happened.

Oh, I don't know.  One situation comes to mind, involving a former KPRC talk show host: www.bloghouston.net/item/4872

He's hired (or has been provided) Dick DeGuerin. Since anyone can file paperwork, I tend to think the big guns are out because a protracted period of trouble is anticipated. There may be no perp walk, as you say. Then again, having dropped the ball on the first investigation, HPD may feel some pressure to come with a more heavy hand.
