Sending over the check and letter was the right legal and moral thing to do and a judge, if it ever got to one, would see restitution made. That's why ya pay the lawyer what ya do. On a personal note, I hope the young victim gets his face-to-face apology. He's the guy watching your car in the parking lot and he's the one you call if someone starts harassing you or getting too aggressive. His job is to put himself in harm's way so you don't have to worry while you are enjoying your evening out.
Either way, the check was the right thing to do.

Agreed. As far as civil ramifications, Berry did the right thing. I also agree that is was morally and legally a smart move. On a personal note, I hope he addresses his personal issues (demons) before something else happens. On a professional note, his hypocrisy is duly noted...again.

I have no idea why Berry was at a gay bar, and I don't care. I don't think it's too far fetched to think he might have been there having a drink with a friend. Are heterosexual people not allowed to have gay friends anymore? I have gay friends. I have gay co-workers. I have gay friends who are also co-workers. Can't say I've ever been to a gay bar with any of them, but the invitation has been extended several times. I think Berry at a gay bar is anything but hypocritical. One of his big themes is saying what you want to say and doing what you want to do, regardless of what others say about it. Obviously, he didn't want the blown out of proportion attention this thing has garnered because people on the loony left are trying to make hay, but if anyone had simply spotted him coming out of the gay bar otherwise and said something to him, his response probably would have been "Yeah? So what?"

If that were the case, then why did he keep denying on air it was a gay bar? "It's not a gay bar, it's a bar that happened to have some gay people inside." Um, that's called Pappacito's at happy hour. There's no shame in going to see a drag show, and you don't have to be gay to find it entertaining, but if he's supposedly so honest and without shame "doing what you want to do regardless of what others say about it" then why not be honest about what TC's is? The right thing to do was to stop and give your info. Short of doing that, he finally did the second best thing to do which was make it right with the bouncer later. It's the on-air meltdown in between that does him absolutely no favors.

I need clarification. Is it loony left to hope that those who destroy your property will hold themselves accountable and comply with the law without having to be tracked down? Is it loony left to expect police to adhere to standard investigative protocol, regardless of how well-connected the suspect?

I mean, can we all at least agree that there's a difference between "being spotted" leaving any establishment, and "being spotted allegedly returning 70 feet backward down the street until you duck-end the staff member's car, and also being spotted again twice more as you allegedly circled back and the witness/venue security took down your tag for a police report"? I hate to nitpick, but let's not forget there are crucial differences, here. I agree, I don't care if he was leaving a drag show or a church picnic. More power to him. Let's just not be disingenuous with our characterizations of the alleged event. This isn't merely "being spotted."

So if you want to sing and watch a drag show we are the place to be ♦ TC's (formerly Cousin's) was born in the summer of 2009 and since it was purchased by its sole owner Tim Pugh; the bar was immediately renovated. Grilled, roasted, fried stir-fried or maybe LYING on a bed of rice? Not going down without a fight, unless you are lying. After you give an apology to the owner of the car then you can give one to Steven Dean and Channel 2. Lying blowhard oh yeah you can give another apology to your audience for duping them into believing you were a victim."

Chris Baker?
Is he still on the air somewhere? Ok, I'll amend my position to include the loony left and irrelevant right wingers desperate for attention.
