Mario- sorry to tell you, but sadly WABB-AM is a non-factor. That's why it didn't get mentioned, and none of the tech issues they've had were never really fixed. I expect the AM to simulcast whatever pops up on the FM or go dark.

Wow, the K-Love machine gobbles another big signal....... Not from the area, but fond memories from vacations in Gulf Shores listening to WABB on the beach. The station for a time always seemed to sound like a large market CHR and always had top notch audio processing.
--I seem to remember a local based CCM called "Power FM" in the area. Wonder how they feel about the McDonalds of CCM coming to town on a monster signal?

Look at 2 factors. Clear Channel will love this now that they will be giving Mobile the hits by themselves. And Cumulus might give CHR another shot with an intown signal using the vibe.

So who is left to do Top 40 in the Mobile-Pensacola markets? Didn't WJLQ last year switch from Top 40 to 80s-90s? Does either city even have a Hot AC?

Guys, I had to say it - but this is a good decision.
It was time. It was quite obvious, financially for the primary reason. Now, Christian AC (K-Love) coming to the Gulf Coast? Well - it's a debatable call but I do know this: 107.3 Hit Music Now will be the OFFICIAL CHR station now. Look for Ryan Seacrest to come in, and maybe some of WABB's talents coming to 107.3 FM. We could however see a Cumulus station rolling in the /Hot-AC/Adult CHR vibe - again and I say 94.1 will be the station to flip it to Hot AC. Mix 94.1? 94.1 the Vibe? 100.7 seems too good of a station to flip formats. They are still "new." It would be wise for 94.1 to flip to Adult CHR cause you have 99.9 and 100.7 being an 80's, 90's and Today's Soft AC approach-like format. Guys, the radio dial on the Gulf Coast will be defined this year. Let the changes begin!
I can't say I will miss WABB-FM because I have not seen them from Day 1 to now. Rest In Peace.
